Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha S. Nair, the duo accused in the solar panel scam is reported to have conned T R Prakash, a Chennai resident, in the name of Biju's financial institution, Credit Finance Shoppy, and regarding iron importing. A total amount of Rs. 33.5 lakh had been allegedly duped in connection with selling imported iron. Also Rs. 4 lakh was conned by promising partnership in Credit Finance Shoppy. Though Prakash filed a complaint against the two to Thiruvananthapuram Police Commissioner and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on September 27, 2005, no further investigation took place.
