Central forces to tackle house siege amidst anti-Chandy protests
In a battle of wits in the sharply polarised coalition politics in the state, the United Democratic Front (UDF)
government has brought in central security forces along with state
police to prevent the Opposition-sponsored indefinite blockade of the
secretariat starting Monday while an equally charged up Left Front has
announced that come what may they will block all the gates of the
secretariat.
The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has announced indefinite blockade of the government secretariat at Thiruvananthapuram seeking a judicial enquiry into the solar scam and resignation of the chief minister.
The CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the LDF agitation will be peaceful. At the same time he declared that the party men participating in the agitation will reach the gates of the secretariat. "Do not try to scare us by deploying central forces" , he told Chandy.
